Watch enamel technology
The origin of enamel technology can be traced back to about 3500 years ago. Isaacson chooses emperor Hou "strong" Auguste (Augustus the Strong) to have a special liking for this kind of technology. John Melchio Johann Melchior Dinglinger created many pieces of enamel treasure, which is now housed in the Green Vault in Dresden imperial palace.
In the past, enamel was also used to make pocket watch dials. Now, only a few experts can manage such a complex process, therefore, the enamel dial watches are treasures. The LANGE 1 TOURBILLON HANDWERKSKUNST, available in October 24, 2014, has a black enamel dial. The design and careful polishing of scales and 18K gold plated rhodium pointer perfect match, a unique texture. The solid silver black small second disk falls into the main dial. The groove of the tourbillon is polished by chamfering and polishing, and it is extremely fine.
