Watch consumption tips

1. What does the relevant text on the watch look like?

      Watch manufacturers generally mark the product category, material texture and other words on the dial, bottom cover, etc., such as: Sapphire, the watch glass is sapphire crystal, Quartz is quartz watch, Automatic is automatic mechanical watch, 21 Jewels indicates movement movement The agency has 21 synthetic diamonds, Stainless Steel (s/S) is made of stainless steel, Ceramic is ceramic.

2. What is the gold-plated watch? Will it fade?

      The gold-plated case is coated with a layer of gold or gold alloy on the exterior of the case. The gold-plated layer is usually between 2 and 20 μm. The gold-plated shells are beautiful in color and most are golden yellow (international standard is 1N14 or 2N18). In general, any plating will fade, but a good gold plating layer, with strong alkali and acid resistance, is not easy to fade in 1-2 years. With poor plating, the coating may fade within 1 month. For example, if the gold plating layer is within 2μm, it will gradually become color after half a year; the gold plating layer 3-5μm can maintain 1-2 years; the gold plating layer 5-7μm can maintain 2-3 years; the gold plating layer 8-10μm It can last for 3-5 years; the gold plating layer is above 10μm and can be kept for more than 5 years; the gold plating layer is 20μm or more and can be kept for 10 years. Of course, if acid, alkali, salt or corrosive gases are encountered during use, the age of the gold plating layer will be greatly reduced. Appearance edges are also susceptible to fading due to frictional parts.

3. Why does stainless steel have some magnetic properties?

        Strictly speaking, good stainless steel is not magnetic. However, during the processing of stainless steel, it is subjected to stretching, stamping, drilling, polishing, etc., and the above process partially changes the internal physical structure of the stainless steel, and it is normal to generate a certain magnetic property.

4. Why do stainless steel also have rust spots?

       In general, stainless steel does not show rust spots. However, since stainless steel contains materials such as nickel and chromium, nickel and chromium are afraid of strong acid and strong alkali corrosion. Human sweat contains hydrochloric acid. If it is eroded by human sweat for a long time or the acid and alkali salt is accumulated and not scrubbed in time, stainless steel will gradually appear rust spots. Therefore, usually pay attention to the maintenance of the watch.

5. What is the product quality standard set by the state?

        Pointer type quartz watch, the level 1 standard is instantaneous day error ± 0.5 seconds, level 2 is ± 1.0 seconds, level 3 is ± 1.5 seconds;

        LCD digital quartz watch, the first-class standard is instantaneous daytime error ± 2.0 seconds, and the second-level standard is ± 4.0 seconds;

        Mechanical watch, type I (watch assembly diameter > 20mm) watch instantaneous difference -20~50 seconds, continuous travel time ability> 34 hours;

                       Type II (watch assembly diameter 16~20mm) watch instantaneous difference -30~70 seconds, continuous travel time > 30 hours;

                      Type III (watch assembly diameter <16mm) watch instantaneous difference -30~70 seconds, continuous travel time > 28 hours;

6. How to judge the accuracy of the watch when walking?

       The watch will be checked with the radio station's timekeeping signal every few days. If it is basically the same, it will be accurate. Under normal circumstances, the daily error of the watch is basically the same. When the accumulated error exceeds the allowable value, it can be corrected by dialing or other setting methods. If the error is large or small, the time is fast and slow, which may be caused by the different state of the watch. If the error is within the allowable range, it is normal. If the allowable error range is exceeded, repairs are required.

7. When the ordinary needle watch is adjusted, why is the second hand not required?

      In daily life, the unit of "dividing" is already accurate enough, and the "second" has little effect. When assembling, the second hand can be loaded at any position. Technically, since the hour hand is mounted on the hour wheel tube, the minute hand is mounted on the minute wheel tube, and the fixed speed ratio is synchronously communicated through the cross wheel. Therefore, when the hour hand is on the whole point, the minute hand also has the requirement of the whole point. The second hand is mounted on the second wheel shaft and belongs to the transmission wheel train. There is no direct connection with the minute hand. All dials are for time, only the hour and minute hands can be dialed, and the second hand cannot be dialed.

8. Can a quartz watch go for a few years?

        Under normal circumstances, quartz watches can continue to walk normally for more than 2 years. After the battery is consumed, you only need to replace the battery of the same model to resume normal travel time.

       When the pointer type quartz watch is shipped from the factory, a stop-stop device is generally installed in the position, so that the watch is stopped before the user purchases and uses, to avoid consuming battery power;

        The liquid crystal display type watch is equipped with a battery at the factory to check the performance of the product. Since the storage, transportation, and sales of the product take up a certain period of time, after the user purchases the product, the watch battery has experienced a certain period of power consumption, and the first replacement cycle may be lower than the standard 2 years.

9. Why not take the automatic mechanical watch?

        Check to see if the watch is stationary for a long time. The automatic watch relies on the swing generated by the relative motion to automatically wind up. If the belt is in the hand and is in a relatively static state for a long time, the watch cannot automatically wind up, and it will lose the ability to travel and stop. The user simply swings the watch a few times or rotates the crown clockwise to tighten the spring on the watch, and the watch can resume normal travel.

10. Why is the quartz watch more accurate than the mechanical watch?

        The daily travel time error of the quartz watch can be less than 0.5 second, which is one tenth of the mechanical watch. This is because the quartz watch uses a high-frequency quartz oscillator of 32768 Hz, and the ordinary mechanical watch has a fast swing frequency of 3 Hz, which is 10,000 times different. The higher the oscillator frequency, the more stable the oscillation, the stronger the anti-interference ability and the more accurate the travel time, so the quartz watch is far more accurate than the mechanical watch. In addition, the mechanical watch is constrained by its own structure and is subject to the action of the earth's gravity. There is a deviation between the horizontal position and the vertical position to produce a difference; the spring is from tight to relaxed, the torque is unbalanced, and the travel time is also affected; The influence of temperature, magnetic field and vibration; therefore, the travel time accuracy of the mechanical watch is difficult to compare with the quartz watch.

11. Why is the travel time error when the watch is worn is larger than when it is static?

       The travel time error of the watch includes static (not worn) travel time error and dynamic (wearing) travel time error. The static error is the error of the watch movement during normal walking, which is related to the quality of the movement itself; the dynamic error is related to the wearer's activity. The dynamic error of the watch is different because of the different activities of each person. Generally speaking, since the quartz watch is controlled by the internal microcomputer, the dynamic error has little effect; the escapement of the mechanical watch will be affected to some extent, the dynamic error is slightly larger, and the dynamic error is larger than static.

12. What is the waterproofing of the watch?

        All watermarks marked with Water-Resistant are guaranteed to be waterproof for more than 30 meters, which can meet the daily waterproofing. However, waterproof watches are still not allowed to be dialed in water or in a humid environment to prevent water and gas from damaging the internal movement. A watch with a water resistance of up to 100 meters can be used while swimming.

        The watch with no WR or Water-Resistant on the bottom cover is not waterproof. When using it, users should keep away from water, moisture and water.

      No matter whether the watch is waterproof or not, it should not be soaked or used in hot water, such as a hot bath.

13. Why is the waterproof watch that has been used for a long time not waterproof?

    During the use of the waterproof watch, the crown or the sealing rubber in the tube is worn out due to multiple needles; the waterproof cover of the bottom cover is aged or sweated; the glue combined with the cover glass or the shell is aging; Factors that will result in reduced water resistance. Therefore, the waterproof watch may not be waterproof after many years of use.

14. What should I do when the watch enters the water?

        Pull out the handle and place the watch in the sun, but do not expose it to the sun; it is best to seal the watch with the granular dry substance. After a few hours, remove the watch to eliminate the water in the watch.

15. Why can't I quickly adjust my watch's calendar?

        Check to see if the hour hand is between midnight and midnight during a quick calibration. The internal mechanical structure of the watch movement does not allow for a quick calibration of the calendar during this time.

       Before adjusting, adjust the hour hand of the watch to 0:00 to 4:00 in the middle of the night, and then set the calendar. After the calendar setting is completed, adjust the hour hand to the correct position.

16. What should you pay attention to when using a liquid crystal display quartz watch?

        The environment of the liquid crystal glass is required to be between -10 and 60 °C. When the temperature exceeds 60 ° C, the liquid crystal panel will turn black; when the temperature drops below -10 ° C, the liquid crystal panel will lose its display effect, so in winter, the electronic watch can only be worn on the wrist, relying on the constant temperature of the human body. Keep it up and running. In addition, high temperature and low temperature will cause the battery to leak and corrode the movement. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid baking, strong heat, falling water, and the like.

17. What if the table is dirty?

        Do not use chemical liquids to clean the exterior. Use only water to scrub. On the glass surface of the watch, you can drop one or two drops of water first, then squeeze a little bit of toothpaste to clean it.

18. What is the anti-magnetic, anti-shock and moisture-proof performance of the watch?

        Watches generally have good anti-magnetic, shock and moisture resistance. However, in order to ensure the performance of the product, you should keep away from strong magnetic fields when using it. For example, do not put the watch on a TV, radio, etc. to avoid violent vibration.

        If the watch is magnetized, it will be inaccurate when walking, or even stop. You can find a piece of iron with a circle in the middle and no magnets. Stand on the table and slowly wear the watch from the circle of iron. The magnet of the watch will be absorbed by the iron block; the watch can also be placed on a clean, unmagnetic iron plate, and the magnetic properties of the watch will gradually disappear after two days.
